Education

08.2018 – 2019 International Master (90 ECTS) in Performing Arts at the Iceland University of the Arts (Listaháskóli Íslands).

My graduation project was called “When I Masturbate” and has been touring since graduation.

09.2013 – 19.12.2014  Master (90 ECTS) in Applied studies in Culture and Communication at the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands).

My master thesis was a documentary, and a rapport on it. I made the script and directed and produced the film.

09.2011 - 06.2013        Bachelor in Comparative Literature at the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands).

My emphasis in the studies was on theatre. My bachelor thesis was on chosen works by Bertolt Brecht.

2019 – present            Drama teacher – Fjölmennt

I am currently working as a drama teacher at Fjölmennt teaching adults with learning disabilities.

2018 – present            Drama teacher – Leynileikhúsið

I am currently working as a drama teacher at Leynileikhúsið teaching children.

2017 – 2018                 Project Manager – IÐNÓ

At IÐNÓ I worked as a project manager for Public Events.  I worked on scoping the vision for the new IÐNÓ with emphasis on more public events and to open up the house for citizens of Reykjavik.

2013 – 2017                 Manager – Art Without Borders, Iceland.

I worked as the manager and artistic director for the arts festival Art Without Borders. The festival is one of the biggest outsider art festivals in Europe and is held annually around the country. It celebrates diversity and promotes the art of those with disabilities. The festival emphasises on breaking down the barriers between different people by facilitating cooperation amongst artists with different background.

2016 – present            Drama teacher, Steinerskolen på Skjold, Norway

At Steinarskolen på Skjold I teach drama for students that have for some reason not managed to find their place in society and need extra support from the government. The students are 16 – 20 years old.

2015 – 2017                 Production manager, Iceland's national TV station (RÚV).

I worked on Ævar Vísindamaður (Ævar the Scientist) series three and four.

2010 – 2013                 Manager and founder of an independent theatre, The North pole theatre.

The North pole theatre (Norðurpóllinn leikhús) was an independent theatre that I founded and ran with three others in the years 2010-2013. We changed an old factory to a three scene theatre with ten rehearsal spaces, offices and a bar. In the first year it became the third biggest theatre in Iceland both in regards to actual size and capacity and the numbers of professional productions.

2006 – 2010                 Script and director, Iceland's national TV station (RÚV).

At RUV I wrote and directed short programmes for kids. In the whole I did three series each with eight episodes.  

2009                             Founder and manager, Leikhús-Batteríið theatre, Iceland.

I founded and managed an independent theatre that housed fifteen theatre production in six months time.

2005 – 2008                Project leader for Leiktu Betur Theatre sport, Hitt húsið youth house, Iceland.

I organised and led Iceland's biggest theatre sport competition and taught theatre sport to participants who are students in collages around Iceland.

2003 – 2006                 Assistant director, bellydance teacher, fire breathing teacher and actress in Reykjavik City’s Street theatre.

Workshops

I have taken courses in the following: Screenwriting, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, an entrepreneurial course at Innovit entrepreneur centre in Reykjavik, long form improvisation at Improv Iceland level 1-4 and musical improvisation. I have taken bellydance, bollywood and afro dance workshops and more.
